The Socotra Archipelago in Yemen has long been a land of mystery. Over the centuries travellers returned from the Indian Ocean isles with bizarre tales – of trees yielding dragon’s blood and cucumbers, forest of frankincense, and towering pinnacles in the mist. Now a fuller picture has emerged of the four semi-desert islands, portraying a rich and unique flora and fauna with over a third of plants found nowhere else in the world, a diverse landscape of plateau, plain and mountain, all safeguarded by a people living sustainably in a challenging environment”. The Socotra Archipelago lies in the Indian Ocean between the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa being located some 240km east of Cap Guardafui (Somalia) and some 380km south of Ras Fartak, (Al Mahrah, Yemen). Along with its neighbouring islands: Abd Al-Kuri, Samha and Darsa, it forms the Socotra Archipelago: one of the most bothanically diverse island groups in the world. Socotra is globally important for biodiversity conservation because of its exceptionally rich and distinct flora and fauna. It is home to 825 plant species of which 308 (37%) are endemic. While the crisis became publicly evident around 2019-2020, its roots extend deep into Lebanon's complex history, intertwined with decades of political mismanagement, economic vulnerabilities, regional upheavals, and external shocks. Understanding the crisis's origins is crucial for formulating effective policy responses and preventing future economic disasters. This report aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the initial stages and foundational causes that precipitated Lebanon's financial catastrophe, exploring the historical, political, economic, and regional factors that set the stage for the current upheaval. 2. As the clock strikes midnight and the calendar turns to a fresh new year, we are given a precious opportunity—a clean slate to reflect on the past, celebrate our victories, learn from our challenges, and look forward to the endless possibilities ahead. The arrival of a new year is more than just a change in date; it is a symbolic moment of renewal, hope, and renewal that invites us to embrace new beginnings with open hearts and minds. Reflecting on the Past Year Every new year prompts us to pause and reflect on the journey we've traveled over the past twelve months. It’s a time to celebrate our victories, both big and small—the achievements that brought us joy, the lessons learned through setbacks, and the moments of growth that shaped us into better versions of ourselves. Reflecting on the past also means acknowledging the challenges we faced. The hurdles and difficulties, whether personal or global, tested our resilience and patience. Yet, within adversity lies an opportunity for growth. Recognizing our strength and perseverance in difficult times fuels our confidence as we step into the new year. Letting Go and Making Space As we welcome the new year, it is essential to let go of what

Woke up with the sunlight spilling through my window,Feeling the warmth, the world’s a little brighter today.Birds singing melodies, a gentle breeze in the air,Smiling to myself, I knew today was gonna be okay. Made my coffee, took a sip, and felt the morning’s magic,Every little moment, like a gift that’s come my way.stepped outside, the world was calling, everything was in its place,Today I found a reason to just dance and say:It’s a good day, oh, I can feel it in my soul,Every heartbeat tells me I’m finally whole.Laughed with friends, and the sun was shining bright,Made memories that I’ll hold tight. It’s a good day, yeah, I’m alive and I’m free,Feeling everything that’s good inside of me.Nothing’s gonna bring me down today,‘Cause I got this good day.Walked down the streets, the world was alive with colors,People smiling, sharing stories, kindness in their eyes.Met a stranger who made me laugh till I was crying,Simple moments like these, I realized: Life’s about the little things that make us feel alive,Like a song on the radio, or a warm embrace.Shared a meal with someone special, hearts open wide,Every moment’s a blessing, a sweet escape. It’s a good day, oh, I can feel it in my
